Most people don’t know this about me, but I have been a lover and heavy user of alcohol since 14 years of age. Throughout my adulthood, I’ve struggled with the best of them. Sometimes successful in sobriety and sometimes not. I’ve been in and out of recovery programs for 18 years, but couldn’t get past the labels and the talk of powerlessness.
The one consistent benefit of my challenge with alcohol is my ever-evolving and expanding spiritual lifestyle that is anchored in healing and compassion. I understand it is a necessary piece to fulfill my dharma and do my work well.
Alcohol use has led me to the profound knowing that clarity of mind, body and spirit is everything and essential to living a quality life. This has become my life’s work and consequently opened me up to more than I ever imagined. Not only are my psychic channels clear and receptive, but I have learned to love and appreciate a peaceful life – a life governed by a higher power. I call that higher power Source Energy or Divine Intelligence. It goes by many names.
Now I am being called to be a facilitator for healing in the area of addiction. This not only serves our community, but it is necessary for my own sobriety. I cannot receive what I do not give away – this is universal law. I’ve kept publicly quiet about my struggle for years for fear of judgement, but I’m over that now. I know I’m not alone and want to shed a healing light on the subject.
My continued healing begins and ends with the 11th Step of Alcoholics Anonymous 12 Step program. The 11th Step states:
“Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood God, praying only for knowledge of God’s will for us and the power to carry that out.”
With that, I have formed a support group for women who are challenged with addiction. It doesn’t matter what the addiction is, but I will mainly be coming from a place of alcohol addiction, since that is what I know. All who hear or feel this message are welcome to join.
What does the 11th Step Women’s Recovery Group consist of?
- Free, anonymous encouragement and support for and from women who seek freedom from addiction
- Weekly meetings where we practice meditation and prayer and exchange support in sobriety and success in all our endeavors
Our weekly meetings will take place on Saturday mornings from 10-11 AM. They will take place at my Pacific Grove office: 170 17th Street, #J Pacific Grove, CA 93950
This group is NOT:
- An official AA group, although it is based on the 11th Step: Meditation and Prayer.
- A negative dumping ground. Be responsible for the energy you bring to the group.
- Affiliated with any religion. All are welcome!
I look forward to meeting you and sharing this healing opportunity with you! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me: firstname.lastname@example.org
